My twin sister Sam recently welcomed her son Koah John Smith. He was born on March 6th by emergency c-section and due to complications has been affected by Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, or HIE, a rare and serious type of infant brain damage that occurs during childbirth. Our poor boy was born without blood and oxygen to his brain cells, resulting in sudden brain cell death after short periods. Thankfully, he's doing better than we first thought and what was predicted, however, he's still not put of the woods yet and is expected to be in hospital for (minimum) the next two weeks and may have short-to-long term delays in development as a result. This fund-raiser is to help Mum and Dad (Sam and Ian) get to-and-from the hospital and for loss of income as a result of hospital visits. This may eventually, depending on our little warriors fighting spirit, be an ongoing thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
