Please Help an autistic family from becoming homelessUnfortunately we all get down on our luck sometimes, but it is even harder when you have an aggressive autistic child and you are a single mother.
One of our students will become homeless in 3 days. Her child broke all the windows in the apartment, the mother has been out of work because her child cannot be left at home alone in the evenings and her caregivers all quit because her son became very aggressive with an onset of an ear infection. He’s 12, non verbal and making progress at our school, but at home his caregivers cannot handle him and the quit. Medicaid Waiver has cut all her hours and have told her the only option for her is to put her son in a group home which she does not want to do. Those who don’t know him, will just restrain him everyday when he becomes aggressive. She is a per diem nurse, broke her foot and was out of work for over 3 months and could not work. When she was able to work, her son ended up in the hospital for 5 days and she crashed her car. She will be evicted in a few days. She needs help with housing if anyone knows any place. She is on multiple waiting lists for section 8 housing. I am trying to raise $4,000 to help her with security and a month’s rent, so she doesn’t have to go to a shelter with her son. Can you please donate $20 today? Your donation will help this family in need and make a difference in the life of an Autistic child. Anything you can do help this mother get back on her feet would be greatly appreciative.
