My brother P.J. and his wife Gloria are mourning the sudden and unexpected loss of their beautiful 16-year-old daughter, Natalie Patrick. They found Natalie unresponsive in her bedroom on February 15, 2023. Her older brother immediately called 911, but she had already passed. The shock and devastation of her death are compounded by not knowing the cause. Natalie survived brain tumor surgery in 2019. A seizure may have led to her death, but preliminary findings from the medical examiner’s office are inconclusive.
Natalie had an adventurous spirit, ready to ride the fastest roller coaster, jump in a helicopter, or try any new experience. While Natalie was independent, she also enjoyed quiet time with her family in Madison, Wisconsin, trying new recipes, spending time with her pups, listening to music, and scanning her phone for fashionable sneakers and hoodies.
Her parents are reeling from this unimaginable loss. My brother P.J. cares for a quadriplegic patient as a home health aid, and Gloria works two part-time jobs. Like many hardworking Americans, they have struggled to pay increased rent and expenses.
