Hi my name is Cara, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and yesterday while scrolling on Facebook I came across a comment on a Canada Unity group post. It read “my dog and I are at a Tim Hortons right now. Someone stole my one person hot tent, and all of my camping supplies. My boots are wet. I’m more worried about my dog than anything else. It’s -20 outside today.” It was a girl around my son’s age. AND I KNEW I HAD TO HELP.

People had been getting her hopes up all day long and then abandoning her again and again while she sat there in Tim Hortons praying not to be kicked back out into the cold with her dog.

I put her into a cheap Airbnb. She is currently in Richmond Hill in Toronto. I could only afford 1 night for her and I am trying to come up with more donations so that she can stay longer than just one night as temperatures dip far below zero. Today is Dec 12,2025 she must be back outside by 9 am eastern time this morning if nobody helps her!

I paid $96 plus tax. I cannot help her myself beyond last night unless I ask people out there for support. Every dime will go to housing this girl. (Temporarily with hotels/airbnbs at first and then hopefully longer term)
