Please help a Vet with a Good Heart and Bad Luck

Hi everybody,

My name is Johnny Cerrito. I am a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. But this isn't about me. My uncle and Godfather whom I love very much. His name is Joaquin "Ricardo" Galvis. He is 75 years old. He was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Army. He was a Medivac helicopter pilot in Vietnam that he used numerous times to save many people. He is 100% disabled. Due to the long-term effects of a chopper incident and him almost dying, he got Chron's Disease along with other ailments. But his biggest weakness was his heart. I don't mean physically. I mean his desire to help people. I could name multiple situations where he tried to help people without wanting anything in return but for some reason the situation turned on him and he was left in the dirt for it.

Eventually my Uncle Rick tried to find some happiness and married a Colombian woman in 2016 and took on her son as well. I met her a few times and her son and they both seemed very nice but that all changed once she received her green card. Her personality began to change.

Once she got the green card she would verbally abuse him, body slamming him and screaming at him at the top of her lungs. Keep in mind my Uncle is not a well manat all. His time over the years has been slowly running out. But he deserves so much better than he has been given in return for his life. This woman is evil and he is forced to be with her by LAW. She did steal the car which was technically not stealing because by law they were married. She left him for almost a year. He managed to get the car back but she came back to strike with the law fully on her side because they were married and the cops behind her 100%. He was forced to live with her night after night in fear. She is much stronger than he is and much healthier. She wakes him up at night by banging on the door, causing him to wake up in terror. He was scared for his safety. He had to sneak out of the house at 3am when she was sound asleep to get something to eat when he was able to every two to three days. He kept calling the police but they would do nothing to help him.

She turns every light on in the house, opens up the front door, windows and the garage for hours on end trying to run the bills high and break the AC. They live in FLORIDA.

My Uncle Rick is negotiating with an attorney who suggested he move out along with two other lawyers. He cannot afford it though. He needs help to pay his legal fees. The divorce will be $5000 to be paid up front. He has no money but his Disability and Social Security alone. In the end we are hoping to collect enough money to pay for his attorney fees for his Divorce and get him a new rental with the security deposit since she has taken over his home.

I know times are tough. If anybody can give anything to my Uncle. He is a good man and ALWAYS has been and ALWAYS tried to take care of other people and never for himself and this is where he has ended up. There is no telling how much time he has left in life with his disease and the pain he lives with. Please help me help show him that his efforts in life warrant SOME appreciation and this world has SOME hope with SOME good people in it.
