We are heartbroken to share that our friend and her family have recently experienced a devastating trauma - the prolonged detainment of their husband and father. He is a wonderful husband to our friend Lupita, and has 2 young children, the youngest living with Prader Willi Syndrome.

He was recently detained by immigration enforcement, and this has placed an immense and incredibly difficult financial burden on their family.

This man worked tirelessly, contributing so much to the Chicagoland community. He was a pillar of strength for his family, and his presence made their lives richer.

Prader Willi Syndrome requires very specific dietary needs – a meticulously planned and carefully monitored nutrition plan – and affording that type of diet is a constant challenge for them.

Growth hormone is also prohibitively expensive when you don't have access to insurance, which was tied to his employment.

Right now, the family is struggling immensely. The legal complexities of the citizenship process have added a layer of stress they never anticipated. The cost of groceries, essential medications, and simply providing nutritious food for their family has become a huge challenge.
