Please help a loving dad with cancer

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,

I reach out to you with a heavy heart as I share the story of my brother, Darryn, who has been diagnosed with a rare and extremely aggressive cancer in its advanced stages. This particular cancer is called sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SUNC), and the doctors advised is 1-in-500 000 with its rarity. The malignant tumour sits on the right side of his face under his forehead abutting his brain. Darryn and our whole family are beyond devastated.

Due to the aggressive nature of this cancer, his prognosis is not favourable. He is scheduled for craniotomy surgery immediately. Then will undergo chemo and radiation treatments and will likely be left with significant facial scarring and the loss of sight in his right eye. He won't be able to work for the foreseeable future, and his family are facing extreme hardship and serious financial stress.

Darryn is a devoted husband to his wife, Kaori, and a loving father to their three primary-age children.

Darryn's biggest fear and what keeps him awake at night, isn't the hand he's been dealt, but not being around to take care of his beautiful family.

The burden of bills, rent, daily living expenses, school fees and the absence of life insurance has created an overwhelming sense of uncertainty for my brother's family. They are worrying every month how they’re going to get through to the next and the weight of this financial strain is taking a toll on their emotional well-being during an already challenging time.

Today, I humbly ask for your support in easing the financial burden that Darryn and his family are facing. Our small family is doing everything to support Darryn and we hope you might be in a position to assist us in supporting him too.

Our hope is to be able to give them this relief before Christmas and give him something to smile about again. Your help will remind them, they're not alone, giving them strength to face each day with a little more hope.
