this is the story Micheal and Jordan posted on his Facebook this week after the fire destroyed there home and there belongings.

Some of you will know our housing story, and the journey we have been on. Some of you won't know our story. Today some maybe wondering if we are "that" family that has been appearing on social media.

7 years ago we got the keys to our first home as a family of 3 with a baby on the way. 6 and half years later we moved out as a family of 5 into a home which seemed to be perfect for all of our family and their needs medically and mentally.

We are gutted to say we now find ourselves homeless awaiting emergency accommodation as of yesterday, due to a large fire destroying our living room and smoke damage practically destroying everything else. We are so thankful we were out of the house at the time of the fire and that Shefford Community Fire Station had everything under control by the time we got there.

Emotions are high and raw. Community spirit is alive and we are overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown and given to us. To prove my point a neighbour we have never spoken to before offered me a cup of coffee and I cried.

We are so thankful to everyone who is rallying around us to provide us with all sorts. Searching lofts for clothes and toys for our children. Offers of food to hugs.

Please bear with us, as we try to navigate and work out what life looks like later today, tomorrow and the weeks to come. As we try to support the children who are struggling that they can't be in their beds, and can't just have that one special teddy right now.
