Hi, I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Amanda, a single mum facing an incredibly tough journey. For years, she’s struggled with chronic pain due to misdiagnosed and untreated endometriosis and has spent the last 18 months with severely limited physical capacity. Amanda fought for years to get a proper diagnosis, eventually self-funding her surgery after long public health wait times. On top of that, she’s dealing with past trauma, neurodivergence, and a loss of work ability, which has drastically reduced her income and employment options.
Despite these challenges, Amanda has been tirelessly working to regain control of her life. She’s attending important appointments, including financial counselling, trauma therapy, psychology, women’s health physiotherapy, and massage therapy, but the costs are mounting.
Amanda is an incredibly generous person who’s always there for others. Right now, however, she needs our help. She’s used all of her savings, withdrawn from her superannuation, and accessed every community charity available. She’s limiting expenses to the basics, even paying rent late to cover therapy costs. To make ends meet, she’s had to cancel essential services like car insurance, home contents insurance, and even health insurance and ambulance cover, adding more anxiety about what might happen if something goes wrong.
Amanda has been fighting every day to build a better life for herself and her family, but she cannot do it alone. Your donation—no matter the amount—will help her regain stability. Funds raised will cover:
- Repairing her car’s air-conditioning (essential for appointments and to keep her kids cool)
- Paying for ambulance cover in case of emergencies
- Restocking her pantry with whole foods that support her health
- Ongoing therapy for Amanda and her teenager, who is struggling with anxiety
- Car insurance, home and contents insurance, and roadside assistance
- Other essentials for Amanda and her girls
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
