Please give for Kris Kay's family

Kris Kay Kouyate was known by many as KK and by her son Sekou (age 15) and daughter Jossira (age 14) as Mama KK. If you knew Kris you knew she loved her scooblies, as she called them, fiercely and without abandon. Her greatest joy was watching them play soccer. If you were fortunate enough to be on the sidelines with her, you would soon recognize she was their biggest cheerleader.
Her rooting for them extended well beyond the field though. She was active in supporting Jossira in Girl Scouts and community projects. She kindled activism in Sekou and Deya by attending together peaceful, political rallies to encourage them to use their voices. She challenged them academically by enrolling them in summer writing workshops and practice SAT tests. She promoted bilingualism by enrolling them in a French school in their early elementary years despite the hardship that caused financially. She nurtured their Malian heritage by travelling to West Africa ensuring their first African experience was together as a family unit. She did all these things, and so much more, and as the sole family provider.
Our sister was an extremely proud woman and gave more than she ever took. So it is to this end that we humbly request your donations to help us continue her dream for Sekou and Jossira (Deya) to live their lives to their fullest potential. All donations will go into a college fund to help support their future academic endeavors. We are eternally grateful for the love and support so many have shown and for your incredibly generous offerings.
