Hi my name is Hayley and I'm fundraising for my Dad, Patrick Ward... something I never imagined I'd have to do.
When you have the best Dad in the world, who would literally move mountains for you and there's nothing you can do to help or take the sadness away. You'd do absolutely anything you can to try and make a little difference.
So thats what I'm trying to do.
I'd love to take away some of my Dad's financial pressure due to his terminal illness.
Around 3 weeks ago our Dad was told he had a brain tumour at just 53 years old. His symptoms were forgetfulness and balance issues.
Just over a week later, he went through brain surgery, awake for 7 hours (he chose this option because he was told it would help prevent long term issues). Our superman!
Soon after an MRI scan confirmed the tumour was still growing and cancerous and unfortunately all couldn't be removed.
We then hoped chemo and radiotherapy would zap it away. But my Dad's cancer has other ideas.
Now given a time limit, we want to live life together whilst we can, starting with Holly's wedding that were planning for 2 weeks time.
Anyone that knows my Dad knows that he's a hard worker, not only in work, but at home and for everyone around him too.
He'd do anything for everyone and often does this even if he has to split himself into two to do it.
He never, and I mean never, asks for anything off anyone. He's a proud man and seeing him so broken and putting on a brave face for his family and friends is absolutely heartbreaking.
We as a family would love to make memories with our Dad whilst we can and we're limited to what we can do. Cora is only 5 years old, just a year older than my Dad was when he himself lost his own Dad. We feel like time is going so quickly and all we want it to do is slow down.
If you feel you would like to contribute anything for my Dad, myself and our family would be extremely grateful.
If you're unable, please could you share my Dad's story.
Thank you so much for reading. Please pray for our Dad and keep him in your thoughts.
We never thought it would be you Dad :( The worst things truly happen to the best people and we'd do anything for you. We love you so much!
