LENNY’S STORY SO FAR

Incredibly brave 3-year-old Lenny from Yarm, always has a smile on his face, and yet he has 2 ultra rare brain diseases:- Asparagine Synthetase Deficiency which is so rare he is just the 22nd in the world and no one in this country had it; and also FoxG1 syndrome which is another rare brain disease with around 600 cases worldwide, so Lenny is an extremely rare anomaly coming under the umbrella of both.

He suffers epileptic seizures which are frightening every time, along with uncontrollable movement disorder from his Central Nervous System. As you can imagine, every day is extremely challenging. His diagnosis is Life Limiting but amazingly with the love and support of his family, Lenny has got past and defied the age that consultants said he wouldn't, as they said he wouldn't live past 2 years of age ❤️

Therapies are essential to try to help his mobility. The physiotherapy sessions at the School of Conductive Life in Darlington cost £50 per week. Lenny also goes to the Alan Shearer Centre to use the hydrotherapy pool, which can be utilised with future hydrotherapy sessions at the Conductive Life Centre in Chester-le-Street. These will cost £68 a session, and are recommended weekly, so it will cost a staggering £1632 for 24 sessions!

This is all going to cost a lot of money but it will help Lenny immensely. We know times are very challenging for you, but if you can find it in your heart to help the family and donate anything you can, you will be helping to make a BIG difference to a little boy’s quality of life.
