This is our brother Kevin Sommers who we love very much. He is going through some financial difficulties at this time due to health and medical expenses. We, as his siblings, are trying to Bless him with this GoFundMe Account. Kevin is definitely not one to ask for help, he’d rather be helping someone else. Life has taken our brother down the path of having to rely on full oxygen for more than 5 years now. This was brought on from a career he held many years ago, which has taken time to catch up to him. He suffers from severe COPD at this time. He continues to get out of breath more easily now just doing simple small daily tasks. Kevin was hospitalized last month for 4 days with double pneumonia. He only has the lower lobe of each lung that function. His upper lobes have crystallized and serve no lung function to him. These past 5 years have truly decreased his quality of life and more so since his hospitalization. Kevin saw his Lung Specialist today and was told he only has 19.5% of lung function. He’s being referred to a Lung Transplant Specialist. He has several tests that will be required of him before being approved to be placed on the list. He’ll also be starting Pulmonary Rehab. Kevin has learned to live with his health conditions, even more limitations and the fight he has within himself to continue on with what lung function that remains. He has an amazing loving wife, Imy, that is very supportive of our brother and his condition. We realize money is tight for everyone so anything you could donate would be a Blessing to Kevin.
