Hi, my name is Sierra. I am fundraising for myself and children who are now going through homelessness, due to fleeing domestic abuse from their father.

Long story short... my children and I underwent 10 abusive years. This was with the hope of their father would either (change and/or wanting to be a family, and also due to being naive because I did not want my children to grow up without a father) so we tolerated and forgave.

But still the abuse continued, escalated and progressed into stages physical, manipulations, financial, controls and due to life and death and taking a step out and viewing it from a mother's perspective, I had to make that difficult choice to flee and give myself and my children the life, value, respect, and love that we deserve.

Trusting on God and leaving all we had and knew behind, we hoped for a better, peaceful, joyous, transparent, and independent life we so deserved as we restarted our journey afresh in life.

With just this little space of time/difference in change of environment, I have seen my children thrive and have so much joy, even in the little that is of us residing in a 1-bedroom property, because that's what I can afford provided by council.

The guilt of knowing that I had failed myself and children in the last years by relying on their father brings tears to my eyes every day. Anyways, that is in the passed, and I cannot take those horrible memories away (oh, how I wish I could). So instead, I made a vow to be willing to do all I can to give my children all the love and best care that every child needs at this stage in their life. Hopefully, this can help create memories that can help them heal and help me develop and live a purpose-filled life.

Together with your help and support and prayers, I can work towards giving them the home they deserve and providing a permanent peace and stability.

So, as Tesco will put it, 'Every little helps' as it takes a village to raise a child.
