Hi everyone,

This situation is incredibly close to our hearts and we’re reaching out because our family could truly use some support right now.

Our mom, Jen, has been managing polycystic kidney and liver disease for many years, and after extensive evaluation with her team at NY Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, the next step is preparing for a liver transplant. If all continues on track, we’re hoping she can be officially placed on the transplant list in December 2025.

As you can imagine, this is a life changing procedure — physically, emotionally, and financially.

Despite everything our mom is managing already, she remains the same warm, steady light she’s always been. She loves traveling, camping, reading, paddleboarding, getting together with friends and family, a cozy day in the kitchen, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and being outdoors in Upstate NY with our dad. She enjoys a fulfilling career helping children learn to read as well as coaching teachers who work in literacy develop skills to become the best literacy specialists.

While insurance helps, it doesn’t cover everything. We are still responsible for significant out of pocket expenses — including travel and lodging for hospital stays in NYC for pre transplant testing as well as post transplant, long term monitoring, medication costs before and after surgery, ongoing lab work, lost income during the recovery period, and additional medical expenses that may come up throughout the process.

We’re creating this GoFundMe to help lighten the financial burden so that our parents can focus on her health, recovery, and the road ahead — not the mounting bills.
