Welcome to the GoFundMe page for Playgrounds for Progress! We are a team of high schoolers from Northern Virginia: Shan Lateef, Leena Sherdil, and Rhea Zahir.

Our ultimate goal is to provide a space for  underprivileged students at an impoverished school in India where they can go to grow, develop, and have fun. This playground will be designed to help the children of the school attain a different type of stimulation that will nurture their  social and emotional development.

At a small school in Chennai, India, we found the opportunity to build a playground on an empty roof. The school is located in a crowded  city area with no space/parks for play. We had visited the school on a trip in 2018 and decided that the rooftop would be the best area to create a safe play space for the children. This way the playground could be used by the students and maintained by the teaching staff.
