Wow, what a day — I loved every minute. Finished the challenge in 10 hours 10 minutes, from Met Station (3000m) to Mount Kenya’s Lenana Peak (4,985m) and back. Managed the altitude well with little to no symptoms, thanks to some acclimatisation on Kilimanjaro, Diamox, water + electrolytes, and lots of diaphragmatic breathing.
A massive thank you to everyone who’s supported so far — it means a lot. In a few days, I’ll be heading to Siaya to help with the project in person and make some key improvements on the project we started last year, for the local kids and community, including:
• Adding monkey bars
• Replanting a section that’s come loose
• Building a bench around the nearby tree
• And maybe more
We’ve managed to raise goal of £250 already! Thankyou! I don’t like to raise things like this.. but there’s so much more we could do with extra. A little goes a long way and directly into the project. So if you can help us further surpass the goal, it would be massively appreciated!
I’ve shared some photos from the dash in my Instagram highlights — if you don’t have access, just let me know and I can send them your way. I’ll also be sharing updates as the project kicks off in a few days.
