Platform Cafe Emergency Fundraiser !

This fundraiser is raising emergency funds to help Platform Cafe (of Loughborough Junction) recover from a break-in. Thank you so much for the support!!

A few words from the cafe below:

As you may know, last Monday our much loved local community cafe was broken into. Thieves broke down the back door and stole iPads, phones, all our takings and petty cash.

We are now having to replace stolen and damaged equipment as well as undertaking repairs and improving our overall security. We didn’t have insurance as it costs too much for a small charity, trying to keep our overheads as low as possible.

It would be great if you could help get everything set back up. Local photographer Teo has offered to set up a Go Fund Me page to raise funds to:

❇️ replace stolen or damaged equipment

❇️ improve security

❇️ cover loss of income for the cafe and earnings for our hardworking staff

All the income we generate is reinvested in our social impact work, including community events, outreach, free workshops, volunteer programmes, training and work placement opportunities for local young people experiencing barriers into employment.

We are a project of local social action charity, the Loughborough Junction Action Group. Partnered with neighbouring community garden Loughborough Farm and Grove Adventure Playground we work to empower people to create a greener, healthier and more resilient neighbourhood.
