On March 15th, 2025, my home was hit by a tornado in Plantersville, AL while I was out of town for work. I called my mom, who was staying at my home with my son, to check on them because we knew it was supposed to be bad weather. While on the phone, I was watching the news, and it was saying that the tornado was about 6 miles from my house. So, I told my mom to go in my office, get a book to cover their heads, go down into the den, and get behind the couch. I said I would call them back in a little while to check on them so that she could save her battery life on her phone because the lights had already been out for a while. We hung up the phone, and within less than 2 minutes, she called me right back and said, "We've been hit. I can hear the tornado; I can hear it; it's right over our head. It's bad, it's real bad, and it sounds like a tree has come into the house." I asked her where my son was, and she said he's right there with her. We were praying that God would save their lives, and within 15 seconds or less, it was gone. They proceeded to get up and get out of the front door, but it was blocked by trees, and the back door was blocked by trees as well. A sheriff came along about 30 minutes later to check to see if anyone was in the house and if anyone was still alive. She went to the door and told him that they were trapped in the house, and he was able to get in and kick the back door in. The following morning, they were able to go out and look at the damage. My home had seven trees on top of it, about 10 trees in the driveway, and one big oak tree right in the middle of my home. There are 9 homes destroyed, 32 structures, and 2 deceased from this storm, and unfortunately, FEMA will not be providing assistance. I am asking for assistance not only for me but others in the community as well. God said, "Ask and you shall receive." Please keep us all in your prayers. Thank you in advance for your support.
