Our names are Thomas Freeman and Fletcher van Tienhoven and we are currently students at Bronxville High School. Sports play a large part within our community, causing there to be a surplus of sports equipment that goes to waste. Specifically, previously used practice pinnies are overflowing within our school. These pinnies cannot be donated to usual outlets and simply end up in landfill. So, we created The Pinnie Project, where we repurpose sports pinnies by sewing them into reusable shopping bags which we sell. See our website at www.pinnieproject.com for more details. With the proceeds from our sales, we partner with the Mount Vernon Knights Boutique to purchase toiletries and other personal care items for homeless and home insecure students at our neighboring high school in Mount Vernon.
Our aim is to build a stronger community, raise awareness of environmental issues, and address essential needs of our friends and neighbors. We believe in the power of combining environmental sustainability with social responsibility. Join us in making a positive impact on student homelessness and promoting eco-friendly practices.
We started this GoFundMe to allow us to sell our pinnies in person to people who do not have cash on them, as well as to allow people to simply donate to our cause. We are trying to raise $1000 towards toiletries and other items needed for the 2025-2026 school year. Join us!
