Join Never Elected in the Fight Against Cancer

We are Never Elected, a Washington D.C.–based rock band with a mission bigger than music. This year, we’re turning the final quarter of 2025 into something truly meaningful — a time to raise our voices, our guitars, and our hearts in the fight against cancer.

Introducing PinkQuarter, our three-month campaign (October through December). This initiative kicked off in October to coincide with Pinktober and will continue through December, dedicated to awareness, prevention, and treatment of cancer, including fundraising for impactful treatment programs.

And at the center of it all is our GoFundMe initiative — The Never Elected Fight Against Cancer Fund.

What Makes This Different

This isn’t just a fundraiser — it’s a movement.

Everyone who donates will have a voice in choosing which cancer charity receives the proceeds. We believe in community-powered giving — because music, like compassion, connects us all.

Throughout PinkQuarter, we’ll spread awareness from the stage and beyond. Expect pink lights, pink gear, and a whole lot of heart. Sujit has even dyed parts of his hair and beard pink as a symbol of solidarity, and every performance will echo the message of unity and hope.

At every show, we’ll be giving out free stickers, pins, and other merch to thank fans and supporters of the local music scene.

Local Businesses, Big Hearts

We’re not doing this alone. Local businesses are stepping up too.

Jessica Fateaux, founder of 'The Fateaux Group', has already pledged to help match the total funds raised at the end of the year, with a few others. Her reason is deeply personal:

“Fourteen years ago, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Through chemotherapy and radiation, she never stopped caring for her clients — even while fighting for her life. Today, she’s alive, thriving, and cancer-free. Her strength inspires me every day.”

Stories like hers remind us why we’re doing this.

️ Why We’re Doing This

Cancer touches nearly every life in some way. For us, it’s not just statistics — it’s personal.

Our front man Sujit Kumar, who spearheaded this initiative, puts it best:

“I’ve always been about giving back to society. With so much happening in the world and so many heartbreaking events unfolding every day, it feels like the real-life issues that not so silently claim millions of lives — like cancer and cardiac arrests — have taken a backseat. PinkQuarter is our way of bringing that conversation back to the forefront. This is just a small drop in a vast river, but if this little drop can create a ripple big enough to reach the oceans, and save lives and livelihoods, it would be a wonderful feeling.”

⚡ How You Can Help

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will directly fuel cancer awareness, research, and treatment through a charity selected by supporters. Donors are welcome to suggest a charity of their choice. When the campaign concludes, the final recipient will be determined by community vote. If consensus isn’t reached or the selection remains open, all proceeds will be given to a certified local cancer organization.
