New Deck for Pierre: Pillars of Strength

In 2017, Pierre suffered a devastating head injury after being blindsided by a blow that caused him to fall and hit his head on a curb. Multiple surgeries and years of recovery in nursing homes and rehab centers followed. Through hard work and determination, Pierre made incredible progress and was eventually able to move back home with his father and son—thanks to renovations that accommodated many of his mobility needs.

Today, Pierre is a greeter at Lowe’s through the MabVoc program, welcoming customers with a smile and helping them find what they need. He has also developed a strong relationship with Christ, deepening his faith through daily scripture reading and guidance from his uncle. Pierre firmly believes that all things are possible through God.

Now, Pierre needs your support. We invite you to become a “Pillar of Strength” in his journey by helping build a new deck leading to a ramp to ensure safe and reliable access to his home. The current deck, which wraps around the back of the house and leads to the driveway, has only temporary fixes to get through the winter. By spring, a complete replacement will be necessary.

Your help will not only improve Pierre’s mobility and independence but also allow him to continue working at Lowe’s and providing for his family. Should we exceed our goal of $8,000 all additional funds will go toward further improving accessibility in and around his home.
