Made In New York Pizza: Pie for Pie Campaign

My name is Eytan Sugarman and I’m the owner of Made in New York Pizza.
Like my business partner, Ronnie, I am a born and bred New Yorker. I have lived in the City my entire life and have seen it go through difficult times before. I was here on September 11th when the Twin Towers came down and watched the extensive rebuilding process. The damage incurred by COVID-19 is unlike anything we have ever experienced and will require similar rebuilding and more.
In addition to the pizzeria, I own two restaurants in the city, both of which are now shuttered. Without restaurants to run, I watch the news frequently in quarantine. I’m moved by the courage and tenacity of our first responders, health care workers, and their families, who risk their lives in order to help those stricken by the virus. I‘ve seen reports of doctors, nurses, and EMTs putting in double shifts and skipping meals. I wondered if I too could be of help.
I posted on Instagram that I would be happy to donate pizza to local healthcare workers who could use a warm meal. I was contacted by Montefiore Hospital and we immediately made our first delivery. Their staff was so grateful and appreciative. I realized I had found a way to contribute. We have since delivered to the three local hospitals and we would like to reach more.
We are proud to launch the “PIE FOR PIE” campaign. We’re asking friends to sponsor pizza pies for health workers. Every dollar raised will pay for pies. For each pie purchased, we will donate another one. Those who donate over $500 will get to choose the hospital and receive a video of the presentation: “These pies were donated by ____ to show his/her appreciation for the selfless, wonderful work you are doing.”
We are all in this struggle together. We all want to do our part to help.
We will continue this mission as long as we can. #PieForPie
