Hello my People,
Shelton Sharpe here.
I would like to first thank you for your prayers, love, spirit, and comforting words.
You just don’t know how overwhelmed I am to hear from all of you… distant family, friends, loving students & parents, and people I haven’t conversed with in years.
I can’t thank you enough.
I LOVE YOU.
We not only took on a Category 5 Hurricane, but we were absolutely ripped apart by a tornado that followed minutes after.
At one point, I thought it was the end. The sound of this storm was the worst sound I have ever heard.
My family and I are doing our best to stay strong, positive, and optimistic so we can immediately start picking up the pieces. We are currently without power, and I’m working on finding a place to rest my head properly until I can get my house back together.
My heart is bleeding for my community and those who are worse off than me. I have witnessed people that are living below the poverty line, sitting on nothing! Everything gone! Nobody to help them. I have to help these people.
I know I’m on this island for a reason!
If you know me, this type of stuff crushes my heart! But, it also opens it up and pushes me to do anything to help the next person. Before this all started, all I wanted to do was get through it so I can get out and help those who need my assistance, love, and care! I didn’t expect that I would be one of those people as well.
I personally took a big hit to my home! Damages that are still mind-boggling.
I know I’m supposed to be thinking about myself, but that’s not how I’m built.
I was put on this earth to give myself to people, and that’s what I’m going to do.
Thank you for taking the time to read this long update.
I can’t say thank you enough for your LOVE. Thank you.
I LOVE YOU.
