In this post-Covid economy, Urban Grace has experienced the same economic impacts as many other businesses, nonprofits and churches: rising operational costs and loss of income. We also have the added challenge of maintaining a century-old building and all of its quirks. It takes a lot of money to keep that neon sign glowing strong!

In combination with our congregational giving, your donations will help sustain Urban Grace for the future so we can continue to serve the community through worship, the arts, education, and social services in an inclusive and welcoming environment. We're also working on improving how we serve through greater building accessibility and more robust programs such as the community breakfast.

Has Urban Grace played a special role in your life? Perhaps you've driven by on a Sunday morning and seen the line of people waiting to be served at the decades-old community breakfast. It could be that you attended a School of the Arts concert, the Grand Cinema 253 Short Film Competition, or popped in for some shopping at their Holiday Artisans Market. Maybe your kids were in the Tacoma Youth Symphony or you have a loved one who found recovery through NA meetings. The possibilities are endless, but Urban Grace (formerly First Baptist) has been a light in the lives of many in downtown Tacoma since 1925.
