Philo's fight with agressive bone cancer

Please help this wonderful family!

On February 23rd, the world of Plant City residents, Clinton and Chelsey Gudgel, screeched to an immediate halt after suffering every parent’s worst nightmare – the utterance of one 6 letter word…cancer. Their beloved 10 year old son Philo, younger brother to 14 year old sister, Emmilyn, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer most common in children and young people. Where do you start, how do you process, how do you care for your child, who is so scared, and their siblings who are so frightened, when you are struggling to find the words and thoughts for yourself as adult at the thought of such a terrifying diagnoses? Only God knows how to give you peace in a moment like this.

Immediately Philo began his care at Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. To date in less than 3 ½ weeks, he has already had surgery for a port, started chemo and just yesterday, had to be readmitted for low blood counts. Given the minimum couple of day hospital stay when he has to be admitted, it makes it very difficult for his parents to continue with life as “normal” with respect to working, family responsibilities and caring for Emmilyn.

As we all know, this will be a long fight. In honor of your own healthy children, grandchildren and yourself, would you please consider a donation to help Clinton and Chelsey so they do not have to worry about money. They need to be at peace, and be able to control at least one thing, so they can focus solely on caring for Philo, giving him the best of care, comfort Emmilyn and allow her some sense of normalcy, and to allow the family to sleep soundly knowing at least their family budget and expenses are taken care of.
