Philip Kerr Memorial Fundraiser

On the 12th of November 2023 Philip Kerr, our club founder, passed away after a short illness. Hush MTB are hosting a memorial spin and walk to show our appreciation for all Philip has done for us.

Without Phil we would not have a club or trails in the Hush, he built the first trails many years ago, back when the hill really did live up to its name as “The Hush”. The calibre of what he built meant it did not stay secret for very long. He was also the person responsible for building a relationship with Coillte, this relationship is the reason we have permitted trails on the hill, and this is solely down to Phil and the friendship he had built with the forestry manager and all Coillte representative he interacted with. Phil set up the club initially, consisting of a small group of friends, many of whom are still in the club and in fact still on the committee. This group paved the way for us to grow into the amazing club we have today, a club filled with individuals who share the same passion for the Hush as Phil.
