Dear Friends,
I never thought I’d ever do anything like this, but it’s not about me, it’s an opportunity to make a real difference.
My Parents as of this week have a 'Ukrainian guests’ as they called them. My mum said it felt weird at the start because it’s like she was waiting for long lost relatives and couldn’t come across lovelier people.
With so many charities out there and ways to help, this is an option that has direct impact.
About the family itself:
Olga Neseniuk is a Polish language teacher in Ukraine - she crossed the border with Rostav 17,
Miroslava 14 and Radek 8 years old. They also brought a little bunny called Kawa (coffee), under Rostav’s jacket all the way to Poland.
They had to leave their dog (German Sheppard) behind with their neighbours and their dad stayed to fight on the front line as most of the Ukrainian men did.
They're from Zhytomyr, close to Kyiv. They left the day before the city was under a heavy shelling. Zhytomyr was one of the first cities to be struck during this invasion, they were hiding in their basement every time the air sirens went off, together with their pets.
We’ve asked the family to list what they need.
My parents, my siblings and myself will be doing what we can to support but to keep it sustainable and give them a fresh start/new home to settle in, I’ll need your support.
After collecting all donations, the family will receive cash directly in British Sterling or Pre Paid Visa card with all the donations on it so they can use this for whatever they need.
One pound goes a long way in Poland.
Thank you,
Kris
