Pháp Tánh Temple Orphanage

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
We are a group of high school students dedicated to help the unfortunate. After several visits to Vietnam’s Pháp Tánh temple, which also serves as an orphanage for young children, we have decided to take action to help these children obtain better opportunities in life. Today, we are reaching out to share the heart-breaking stories of many young children from this orphanage.
At only 6 months old, one of the orphans was left in front of the temple’s gate in the early hours of the morning. Multiple missed calls were found on the temple’s landline. Fortunately, the nuns were awakened by these calls and discovered a young child wrapped in a blanket with a letter from the parents left at the entrance.
The letter reads:
“The child's name is Nguyễn Trần Kim Thy, born on the 17th of October 2021 according to the lunar calendar. The child was born with hydrocephalus and is visually impaired. My family is unable to afford the care of this child, so we ask for you to raise him. Our family deeply thanks you.”
With compassion and love, the nuns of Pháp Tánh temple decided to take in the child and provide him/her with better opportunities in life. News quickly spread about the temple's commitment to caring for children, resulting in more and more children being left at the temple's doorstep. The nuns could not bear to turn away these young ones. This is just one of the many heart-wrenching stories from this small temple in Vietnam.
As the number of children left at the temple increased, along with more children being raised by the nuns, they found themselves unable to manage alone. They had to hire many nannies to share the workload, in addition to providing clothing, food, toys, and other essentials. This posed a significant financial challenge for the small temple. The total monthly expenses for staffing and supplies amounted to approximately 5-6 thousand U.S. dollars. To meet these expenses, the nuns of Pháp Tánh temple have started various side businesses, including selling artwork, dried banana snacks, and more.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our efforts to support these children and their caregivers at Pháp Tánh temple.
