This is something that has been on our heart for a while. We are reaching out to the community to help these students and families. Please consider helping with PFISD Student Lunch Balances.
As of May 1, students will no longer be allowed to charge meals to an empty account. On that date and until the end of this school year, students with balances on their account will not receive the full regular meal, but an entrée of a cheese sandwich with the sides and beverages offered with the regular meal.
Currently, PFISD as a whole has a total outstanding balance of $23,000. What can you do? First, make sure your own student’s balance is current. Second, donate to this Go Fund Me project to help get all accounts current.
Any shortfall comes from PFISD’s budget, which means those funds get diverted from educational purposes. Paying off the lunch balances for some students helps PFISD provide educational enrichment for all students. As a member of the community, please consider donating what you can.
Your support would mean so much to these kids and their families. We are so very grateful for your kindness and generosity.
