Pete's Eagle Scout Project

One in eight women have a chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Many women diagnosed are not prepared for a cancer diagnosis and are either unaware or unable to afford the items that will comfort them during and after treatment. In February of 2021, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her experience gave me the inspiration for my Eagle Scout project.

I am making breast cancer care bags for patients at Atrium Union West. My hope is that these care bags will give patients some much-needed items to comfort them during recovery and help make their recovery easier.

My goal is to make 100 care bags. Each bag will contain a handmade "no-sew" pillow, an apron and/or lanyard, a pair of no-slip socks, a pen, and a notepad. I estimate the cost of each care bag to be $30.00 each.

Please consider sponsoring one or more care bags. 100% of the donations will be used for the purchase of the supplies and items for the care bags.
