Peter's walk for Cancer Research
Hello! Last November, I completed a 36-mile walk from Prestwich to Preston to raise money for MIND, a mental health charity which is very important to me. This year, I've decided to do another charity walk (he loves a challenge!) but this time for Cancer Research.
The walk will be 67-miles (or thereabouts), starting at my house in Prestwich and finishing up in Telford the following day. I will do the walk over two consecutive days in October.
So...why have I chosen Cancer Research?
Well, the photo attached to this fundraiser is of me next to a photo of my Grandad, Percival Rex Adamson. Unfortunately, I never met Rex as he passed away from leukaemia in 1974 at the age of only 51. This year would have been Rex's 100th Birthday so in memory of that I am doing my walk not only for Rex but for the millions of people in the UK currently facing a battle with cancer. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer. Thanks to research, more people are surviving cancer than ever before.
Any contribution you can provide towards this fundraiser is much appreciated. But look, I know times are tough and not everyone can offer monetary help - so if you can't, a word of encouragement and a share of this fundraiser would go a long way. Thank you.
