Peter walks the Camino for Aiséirí Wexford
My name is Peter Brady and I have been an employee of Aiséirí Addiction Treatment Service, Wexford for 5 years, working as the Maintenance Supervisor. I plan on walking from Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The Camino de Santiago is known as the Way of Saint James. This is a total distance of 780km, about 33 days of walking. The Camino is something that I have wanted to do for some years now. The day has finally come, and I am setting off on May 1st. I am fully funding this walk and all associated costs myself, in order to raise both awareness and much needed funds for the Aiséirí Addiction Treatment facility in Wexford.
All donations/ funds raised will go directly to the refurbishment of our Treatment Centre in Wexford, we really need to update and upscale our sitting room, group therapy room, counselling spaces, social areas, kitchen and dining area. We need everything from paint, to new furniture, including tables and chairs. It is really important that when people come through the doors of Aiséirí that they have a comfortable place to rest, heal and recover, as they work through this very challenging time.
Thank you for supporting the Camino for Aiséirí gofundme page. Aiséirí has changed my life in so many ways, both in my recovery and working life. I think the Camino is a good way to raise awareness around addiction and raise some much-needed funds.
Buen Camino.
