Zona de Descarga is a duly registered non-governmental organization in Venezuela. We work in the Petare, Sucre Municipality of Caracas.

Petare is the largest slum in Venezuela and one of the largest in the Americas. With over 2,000 neighborhoods and an estimated population of over 1 million, it has a history of violence and chaos. For the past four years, the NGO Zona de Descarga has undertaken social projects to create spaces for peace, dialogue, community building, and livelihood generation for its residents.

Emerging as a beacon of light amidst immense challenges, we guide our communities towards a brighter future. Our programs are seeds that take root in hearts ready to blossom. The Descargando Futuro Network unlocks the potential of talented young people. Mujeres Ilustradas empowers women through knowledge, art, and music, fostering solidarity and success stories. Platabandas Verdes weaves nature into communities by creating green roof gardens.

With your collaboration, we can project inspiring and transformative stories onto the screens of Cine Platabanda using a powerful projector. The Descargando Futuro Network teachers will be able to educate eager minds with 15 new computers. Café Petare Blu will be a haven for dreams to take flight.

At the Universidad Metropolitana, the magic of baby Jesus comes alive with gifts.
