Perseverance Aid Kits: Support for At-Risk Females

Sheen for She is making a community appeal for support toward the 3rd phase of the Perseverance Aid Kits (PAKs). While $60 sponsors 1 Love Box, we encourage everyone to donate what they can. We are also accepting new and unused in-kind donations (please email us to donate items).
Our goal is to assemble and deliver 5000 Perseverance Aid Kits in 4 months.
We diligently deliver Perseverance Aid Kits to at-risk women by:
1. Delivering door to door (in transitional homes, half-way homes, etc.,)
2. Collaborating with up to 50 women’s organizations across the GTA
3. By driving around the streets of Toronto and distributing to women living in tents
4. Hosting drives for women to pick-up Love Boxes
The second phase of the Perseverance Aid Kits (formerly called #TheLoveBoxProject) started in August 2020, with the generous support of Red Cross Canada. We delivered over 3000 Perseverance Aid Kits and 500 Love Bags by December 2020.
The first phase of the Perseverance Aid Kits began in May 2020, with the support of MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith and Rising Youth Canada.
PAKs are customized packages tailored to address women’s self-care needs, covering everything from hygiene, make-up, skincare, haircare, face-care, body-care, nail-care, home-making items, clothing, and more.

About the Sheen for She Foundation:
The Sheen for She Foundation is a Canadian non-profit with a mission to address and prevent physical and mental health issues faced by women dealing with socioeconomic crisis due to violence, homelessness, and drug addiction by providing medical esthetics, self-defense/fitness training, self-care workshops for professional and personal grooming, and group support programs.
Sheen for She believes that self-care not only affects the way other people view us but also affects the way we see ourselves, which is why it is a basic human right that should be made accessible to all women - regardless of their class and financial status. Expensive grooming spa services exclude lower to middle-class women from accessing the benefits of self-care. Exclusively preventing them from progressing in their professional and personal lives. The only organization of its kind, Sheen for She, defeats these barriers by offering these out of reach self-care services for free.
