Help us launch Scunthorpe’s first Period Points - free access to period products for everyone who needs them.
Periods aren’t optional. But access to period products still is.
I’m Rochelle, a mum from Scunthorpe, and I know first hand how hard it can be to keep up with the cost of periods. I also live with Von Willebrand’s Disease, which means I experience heavy bleeding and sometimes go through 8–10 tampons a day. Period products are a basic necessity but for many, they’re a struggle to afford or access.
That’s why I’m launching Period Points.
What are Period Points?
Period Points are discreet community boxes placed in trusted venues across Scunthorpe; like libraries, cafés, gyms and community centres. Each box is stocked with free pads and tampons, available to anyone who needs them. No stigma. No questions asked.
Why do we need them?
Because period poverty isn’t just about being “on the breadline.” It can affect anyone:
• Teens caught short at school.
• People choosing between food, bills, and products.
• Those with health conditions causing heavy bleeding.
• Anyone who simply gets caught off-guard.
No one should ever have to risk their health or dignity because they don’t have what they need.
How will your donation help?
Your support will help us:
• Buy our first 10 Period Points boxes (£248).
• Stock them with free pads, tampons, and disposal bags.
• Print information cards so people know where to find us again.
• Cover essential costs like insurance and setup.
Our goal
With just £500 we can launch the first 10 Period Points in Scunthorpe this November. From there, we’ll grow with business sponsorships, donations, and community support.
Every donation helps us stock more boxes, reach more people, and spread more dignity.
Please donate if you can and even if you can’t, a share means the world. Together, we can make sure no one in Scunthorpe ever has to go without period products again.
