Peregian Beach Community Kindy is a community-based centre which offers a safe, nurturing and engaging experience for all involved in the kindy, and continues to make incredibly rewarding connections with the wider community. The wonderful educators share a special bond with each child and aim to assist them to develop to their fullest potential, whilst ensuring their safety and happiness. This year we celebrate 40 years of this special place being part of the Peregian Beach community.

 

Peregian Beach Community Kindy is set on one acre of garden and prides itself on it's beautiful, open and engaging outdoor play spaces. Whilst most areas are functional, it has been a dream for the educators of the kindy, namely the wonderful Carmel who has been a teacher there since 1988, that the backyard space could be transformed and made more accessible. A sensory playspace, equipt with flexible learning areas, a fairy garden, scramble net and mud play area has been proposed. This space will maintain the native and organic garden features that are seen throughout the kindy, as well as an updated vegetable/edible garden area. A past family was able to provide concept designs for the area which clearly depicts an engaging outdoor learning and play space for the children.

 

As you may be aware, the kindy relies on the fundraising efforts from families and the community to raise funds for such works. We, as representatives of the current parent committee, are therefore reaching out to past, present and future families, educators, and members of the wider community to contribute what they can to making this backyard makeover a reality. It is an opportunity to give back to the educators and strengthen opportunities and experiences for current and future children. We also look forward to inviting you to the 40th Year Celebrations to be held at the kindergarten in October 2022, so that you can experience the beauty of the kindy for yourselves.
