My name is Ricky Murek, I am a Boy Scout in Troop 144, working towards my Eagle Scout Rank. For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I am working to improve the front entrance of the Pequannock Township Department of Public Works building. Working alongside the DPW, we identified three main areas to focus on: restoring the generator landscaping, reconditioning the town’s iconic plow, and installing lighting to properly illuminate the American flag at night. The project will include cleaning up overgrown vegetation, adding fresh mulch, shrubs, river rock, repainting and re-lettering the plow, and improving the overall appearance of the entrance.
This project is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to lead others while creating a more welcoming, attractive, and meaningful entrance that reflects the pride of our community and recognizes the hard work the DPW does every day. Funds raised will go toward landscaping materials, lighting, paint, plants, food, drinks, and other supplies needed to complete the project and support the volunteers who will be helping throughout the project.
Any support for my Eagle Scout journey would mean a lot to me. This project is a way of giving back to the community, and every donation or act of support helps us get one step closer to completing the project!
Anything will go a long way! Thank you for supporting this project, our community, and Troop 144!
