Born in Nigeria, I was raised by a single mother who relied on Medicaid and public schools just to survive. Those systems gave me a chance—I became a Division 1 athlete at Cornell and Ohio State and built a career in public health, urban planning, and landscape architecture. But I’ve also lived the struggle. In college, I battled mental health challenges and saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to get by.

Today, Californians face rent that eats paychecks, healthcare that forces impossible choices, rising food insecurity, and aggressive ICE enforcement that has wiped out hundreds of thousands of jobs in agriculture, construction, and hospitality. When I decided to run for Governor, the campaign filing fee was a significant expense. I gave up most of my savings because I believe regular people—immigrants, working families, everyday Californians—deserve real representation.

This is a people-powered campaign. I’m running it mostly alone, using AI to stretch every dollar.
