Our love story has always been a little unique. We come from different countries, Canada and the U.S., and met in a random, unexpected way. So it makes sense that our journey to becoming parents would be just as unique. It’s a story marked by years of infertility and a cancer diagnosis for Emm, which eventually closed the door on having a biological child. Yet through every heartbreak and unknown, we held onto hope that one day, our home would be filled with the laughter and love of a child.

There were many moments when we wondered if that dream would ever come true. We wrestled with what it might mean to live a life without children, trusting that God’s plan for us was unfolding even when it didn’t look the way we expected.

But God had a different story in mind.

In early September, we got the life-changing phone call we had been waiting for. The years of quiet waiting came to an end in an instant. We’re so excited to share that Baby Pensa joined our family on October 14th! Our long wait is over, and our hearts are overflowing with a new kind of love as we finally step into this long-awaited chapter of parenthood.
