Pennington Park
Donation protected
In Sept 2018, my wife and I purchased a 2-acre lot in Dadeville, Alabama, we named "Pennington Park," after Johnnie Fae Pennington, a long-time Dadeville school teacher. The lot is the last undeveloped parcel within the boundaries of Dadeville's historic district that was previously occupied by the Creek Indians. Our intent is to develop the property into a multi-purpose art and music venue while keeping its natural beauty of open spaces and Pecan trees. While we purchased the property, we have built 3 planting berms and added the park sign, but we do not have the resources to add the additional improvements to make the complete vision come alive--that's where we need your help. Partnering with "Everything's Art" a new art guild in Dadeville, our intent is to clean out the creek and build a 17x25 covered pavilion which will serve as a platform for music, presentations, sunrise services, weddings, etc. We intend to add seating, bridges over the creek, gardens, a walking path and electricity to the property to facilitate events of every type.
Our hope is that Pennington Park will add to the continued revitalization of Dadeville's historic district; and our dream is that Dadeville becomes the "city you go to, not through."
Please donate to Pennington Park project and keep the dream alive.
