Pengweather + Urban Compassion Project Present: TRASHFORCE SUMMER 2025
This summer, we’re launching TRASHFORCE SUMMER 2025, a bold and compassionate initiative to tackle illegal dumping across the Bay Area with heart, hustle, and dignity.
Our Summer 2025 Goals
- 300+ tons of illegally dumped trash removed
- 30+ community cleanups from June 1 to September 22
- 600+ volunteers engaged
- 15 Homeless Ambassadors hired to maintain cleaned areas and report new dumping
Who We Are
We’re teamed up. The Bay Area's cleanup legend and trash warrior, Peng, and the relentless force of Urban Compassion Project, are joining hands in a powerful yearlong collaboration to clean up the Bay Area faster, more efficiently, and with dignity.
Together, we’re scaling up our impact with a yearlong partnership focused on speed, efficiency, and respect.
Why It Matters
Illegal dumping is:
- Dangerous to public health
- Demoralizing to communities
- Disproportionately impacts homeless neighbors
- Detrimentally impacts small businesses and ALL our neighbors.
Our approach is different -- we combine boots-on-the-ground cleanup with empowerment of homeless residents through UCP’s Homeless Ambassador Program, offering stipends and tools to help keep their neighborhoods clean.
Impact So Far
- 175+ tons collected this year alone (2025)
- 2,100+ tons collected since 2021
May 2025:
- 90+ tons cleaned
- $25,000 in operating costs
- 8 major cleanups
- 288 volunteers participated
- $3,125 average cost per cleanup
Help Us Raise $100,000 for Summer 2025
Your support will directly fund the following:
- 15 Homeless Ambassadors (stipends for 16 weeks) $100/week × 16 weeks × 15 ambassadors = $24,000
- 10 Skid Steer Rentals: To move massive debris piles = $6,000
- 50 Dump Trailer Rentals: Weekday + weekend cleanups ($1,000/trailer) = $50,000
- Supplies Bags, PPE, rakes, shovels, etc. = $10,000
What Your Donation Makes Possible
- Weekly cleanups across multiple neighborhoods
- Faster, more efficient trash removal
- Deter illegal dumping before it starts
- Jobs and dignity for homeless residents
