On July 12, 2025, our family experienced the unimaginable with the unexpected passing of Jennifer Larkin (41)—a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and most importantly, mother to her beautiful adopted daughter, Penelope.
At just the young age of 7, Penelope is full of light, curiosity, and so much potential. Her mother was her world and a constant source of love, encouragement, and strength. Now, as our family navigates the heartbreak of this unexpected loss, we are committed to surrounding Penelope with that same love and support, every step of the way.
Words cannot begin to describe how thankful we are for the outpour of love and support we have received during this unimaginable time. In lieu of flowers and gifts, my family would love to build a secure foundation for Penelope’s future—especially her education. We want to ensure that she has every opportunity her mother dreamed of for her: a chance to learn, to grow, and to follow her own unique path in life with confidence and care.
The money raised will go directly toward:
- Educational expenses (tuition, tutoring, extracurriculars)
- Therapy and/or emotional support
- Basic needs and long-term planning to help provide a stable, nurturing environment
If you knew Jen, you knew she was the kind of the person who gave everything without ever expecting anything in return. She had big dreams, lofty goals, and a heart of gold... and she left this earth far too soon and will be greatly missed. If you’re unable to give at this time, we hope you would consider sharing this page along with a special memory you may have of Jen and/or Penelope.
Life is such a gift. We ask that you tell your loved ones how much you love them, give hugs, tell corny jokes, laugh, and spread kindness wherever you go.
Thank you for helping us carry Penelope forward with love, hope, possibility, and all the things her mother would have wanted for her.
With gratitude,
The Larkin Family
