I am a Land Defender and Water Protector!

My name is Gary McKinney (Numu/Newe), and I am a Land Defender and Water Protector. I left my job back in May of 2021 to entirely focus on my advocacy work and fight for the protection of our ancestral homelands where our ancestors roamed before reservations. My work is part of the driving force of frontline communities at Peehee Mu'huh, also known as Rotten Moon or Thacker Pass. My commitment to the fight for indigenous rights, cultural protections, and environmental justice is important because it allows us to bring more allies into our shared struggles and build community power.

I am continuously working on any given day. Our indigenous Communities are taking losses and it takes devotion and compassion to get our Voices heard. 

I will always fight for Mother Earth, I love standing up for the Land and I thank you for any donations at this time.

Additionally, I am a father of four who are 2, 4, 11 and 14 years. I am committed to providing for my family and also ensuring I protect their culture and lands. To continue to support the Peehee Mu'huh Camp, I am asking for your support. My expenses are incredibly stressed since leaving my 9-5 job to focus on my advocacy entirely. Donations will help make ands meet and basic living expenses are getting difficult as we get ready for the winter months with snow and ice.
