Starting on the 21st of June, Jeremy Chavez and I will spend three days cycling King Alfred’s Way for the first time to fundraise for both the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
King Alfred’s Way is a 230-mile, circular off-road route which passes through several iconic sites like Stonehenge and the South Downs. This route will be completed over a course of 3 days, where Jeremy and I will have to camp and sustain ourselves throughout the journey.
Jeremy Chavez is a living miracle, having survived a cardiac arrest not once- but twice. This challenge is his way of giving back, raising funds for the British Heart Foundation to support life-saving research and care for others walking a similar path.
This ride is my third fundraiser for cancer research, and it is dedicated to three of my closest friends:
- Roni Recamadas, my best friend, who lost his battle with bowel cancer
- Lito Penaranda, my beloved friend who passed from a brain tumour
- Julito ‘Jing’ Mendoza, my dear friend who fought bravely against liver cancer
This ride honours their lives and to all those affected by heart disease and cancer.
I am asking for your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to breakthroughs in treatment, longer lives and more time with the ones we love.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign. All funds raised will be split evenly between:
- The British Heart Foundation
- Cancer Research UK
Thank you for supporting our journey, for honouring lives and for your belief in the cause.
