On Saturday 18th October, we’ll attempt to ride the full length of Wales in a single day tackling the highest peaks in North and South Wales — Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons — before finishing at our own Ashley Down campus in Bristol. With over 15,000 ft of climbing, and battling the unpredictable autumn weather. All self supported, it’s a huge challenge — one that will push us to our physical and mental limits — all to raise money to open up new opportunities for our learners with a regular SEND cycling session on campus for the 2025/26 academic year.
Why are we doing this? Because we want to create more opportunities for our SEND community on campus through inclusive cycling sessions with Warmley Wheelers, a local community partner who offer specially adapted bikes and safe, supported sessions so that everyone — regardless of ability — can experience the joy of cycling, even those who may have thought it would never be possible for them.
Warmley Wheelers previously visited our campus for a session and the impact was unforgettable. Our learners loved it, and we saw first-hand how much confidence, joy, and independence it brought them. Now, instead of a one-time experience, we want to make cycling a lasting part of enrichment and personal development at Ashley Down.
With your support, we can create joyful, life-changing experiences that build independence, confidence, and empower individuals to thrive in a safe and supportive community.
Our goal is to raise £1,500 to make this vision a reality.
Thank you for supporting, sharing, and helping us bring the joy of cycling to our learners
