Pedal Power - Raising Funds to Get More Children Cycling

Did you know that in some schools across our city region nearly half of all 10-11 year olds can't ride a bike?

This is where HYPE Urban Bikes comes in. We want to offer more cycling opportunities for children aged 3-7 years across our city's schools and parks. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the chance to experience the joy and freedom that comes with riding a bike.

We believe that starting early is key to building confidence and fostering a lifelong love of cycling. To achieve this, we need your support. We are raising funds to purchase balance bikes, which are perfect for young children as they learn to balance and steer without the need for pedals. These bikes will be distributed to schools, nurseries, and parks throughout the city along with cycle training.

But our project doesn't stop there. We also aim to train the next generation of cycle mechanics and bike leaders, ensuring that our community has the skills and knowledge to maintain and promote cycling for years to come. HYPE Urban Bikes works with young people aged 16-24, providing them with valuable experiences, qualifications, and training that will open doors to future employment and personal growth.

On Friday, 14 June 2024, a team of ten dedicated cyclists from Vermont will embark on a sponsored bike ride from our Liverpool HUB to Southport and back—a 45-mile round trip. This event, generously sponsored by Vermont, will not only raise essential funds but also showcase how businesses and individuals in Liverpool can come together to support a common cause.
