On Wednesday July 31st @ 9:50am Alex Moscrip a young student (7 years old) in the Johnsburg School district was struck on his bicycle near his home in Pistakee Highlands.

Here are some details regarding the incident,
"
A LifeNet medical helicopter was requested to the incident due to the child’s injuries, according to McHenry Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief David Harwood.

An ambulance transported the victim to the Johnsburg High School where a landing zone had been set up in the parking lot.

The helicopter landed a short time later and the child, who suffered serious injuries, was transferred to the helicopter, Harwood said.

Harwood said the helicopter flew the juvenile to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, which is a Level 1 trauma center and has a children’s hospital.
"

Alex's mother confirmed that Alex did have brain surgery on Wednesday. He will require another surgery in the future as well as therapy on his long road to recovery. With that the neuro surgeon said, " everything looks good and he did good in the first surgery."

While the family has received good news on Alex's condition the communities continued support, positive thoughts, prayers, and donations are greatly appreciated by the family as well.

Johnsburg is such a strong community that truly cares about all children within the district. Lets show our support not only with donations but a kind messages that can be read to Alex as he continues to recover.
