I'm Tito Mbathi and I'm raising money for a cause that is important to me.

I'm joining a team to summit Mount Kilimanjaro to raise $10,000 for Phase 1 of the first purpose-built coworking space in a refugee camp anywhere in the world. We're climbing Africa's highest peak to build something that shouldn't be revolutionary… but is.

The camp is called Kakuma and here's some info most people don't know about it:

Over 280,000 people live there. Many have been there for decades. Some were born there. Contrary to popular belief it is not just people waiting for aid to solve their problems, it's accountants, developers, designers, teachers, and entrepreneurs trying to build careers with no reliable internet, no power, and workspaces that hit extreme temperatures.

The talent exists. The clients exist. The infrastructure doesn't.

What we're building:

A 700 square meter facility with reliable internet, power, meeting rooms, training spaces, and dedicated workstations. Solar-powered, built for Kakuma's extreme desert environment and designed to last. To put it simply, we aim to remove the barriers that are stopping people from doing what they are working so hard to do - earn, build, and invest back into their community.

The plan is simple:

Total cost: $250,000 across 3 phases
Right now: Phase 1 - $55,000 (foundations and site preparation)
My personal fundraising goal: $10,000
Climb: February 8-14, 2026
Once Phase 1 is funded and complete, we launch Phase 2

Every dollar is accounted for. Full budget breakdown available on request.

Why this matters to me:

I work in displacement economics. I've seen what happens when talented people have the infrastructure to build. And I've seen what happens when they don't. This is the difference between potential and paralysis.

I'm not asking for you to believe in an abstract idea but to help us pour concrete, build walls, and install power systems. Trackable, real and impactful.

Help me get to $10,000 so we can get to work :)
