Peace Flowers to Heal Hearts

“Mother’s Day is a very difficult day for mothers who lost their children to violence, but a simple beautiful bouquet of flowers brings gentle smiles to moms, helping them push through this painful day.”
-Pamela Bosley, Co-Founder of Purpose Over Pain.
For the last five years, the Chicago Peace Flowers initiative has distributed flowers to mothers, on Mother’s Day, who lost children to gun violence. This project exists as a collaboration between organizations that are committed to both supporting victims of gun violence and developing green spaces within the urban environment including: Mothers on a Mission 28, Purpose Over Pain, the Stone Temple Baptist Church, Homan Grown L3C, Chicago Survivors, and the Goldin Institute.
The goal for the Chicago Peace Flowers is to distribute flowers to over 600 mothers who have lost their children to gun violence over Mother’s Day weekend. With your help this year we plan to not only support these families on Mother’s Day, but to also establish a sustainable campaign that promotes peace in Chicago and the creation of green spaces leave a lasting benefit on the well-being of our communities.
